How to apply KRA pin.

Application process is done online. Normally, if you walk into a cyber, you will be charged ksh 200 for the process, which should cost at most ksh 50 for those who have a problem with handling the mouse.
To apply for the KRA pin, simply follow the procedures bellow:
  1. Using a computer log on to; KRA website. If you can’t click on this link then copy paste this: https://mapato1.kra.go.ke/itms/ in you windows browser’s bar.
  2. Select new tax payer
  3. Check the resident’s box. You’ll see a dialogue box asking you to enter your I.D number, your d.o.b and your year of birth.
  4. Then click submit.
If your I.D data is loaded on the KRA database, then a dialogue box will appear asking for your particulars.
  • Fill it where necessary(there are some places that don’t require you to fill. These boxes can’t be highlighted.) Such boxes are left blank.
  • After you’ve filled it, submit it and wait for the KRA database to prepare you a certificate. This might take several minutes.
  • Then log in to the email you used in the application process to view your password, security stamp and the KRA pin. Use them to log in to your KRA profile and print your certificate.
  • You are done! Now you have your pin with less amount spent.
In some cases where the I.D is still new and the your data is not loaded on the kra database, the response will be “DATA NOT CONSISTENCE WITH KRA”. in this case you have three options:
  • You can pay a visit to the vipande house and have your I.D data loaded
  • Wait till they load the data themselves (this usually take 3-4 months after the issuing of the I.D)
  • Pay a cyber specialist to load your information into the database.
For my readers, i can do the job free of charge.
